GMC Canyon vs. Honda Ridgeline

If you want a midsize truck with big truck power in St. Joseph, the GMC Canyon is hard to beat. The Canyon comes equipped with a TurboMax™ 2.7-liter I4 engine that generates 310 horsepower and a jaw-dropping 430 pound-feet of torque; that torque figure surpasses what some V8 engines can do. The Honda Ridgeline has a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, shy of the Canyon in Horsepower and well short on torque. The Canyon also easily clears the Honda Ridgeline in towing; the Canyon boasts a best-in-class max towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. That is more than two-and-a-half tons than the Honda Ridgeline's max towing rating of 5,000 pounds.

GMC Sierra 1500 vs. Ram 1500 and

The GMC Sierra 1500 and Ram 1500 are both capable light-duty pickups with plenty of fans in Excelsior Springs. But a close look at both shows that the Sierra 1500 has some notable advantages. First is the base engine. Like the Canyon, the Sierra 1500 comes standard with the TurboMax I4 engine, which generates 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The Ram 1500 gets a standard 3.6-liter V6 that produces 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque; similar horsepower, but well short of the Sierra 1500 in torque.

The Sierra 1500 also bests the Ram 1500 in towing. When equipped with the available Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel I6 engine, the Sierra 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds. The Ram 1500 towing capacity maxes out at 11,610 pounds. It's also worth noting that the Ram 1500 doesn't offer a diesel engine option, so fans of the better fuel efficiency and low-end torque provided by diesel will have to look elsewhere.

When it comes to utility, the GMC Sierra 1500 also outperforms the Toyota Tundra. The Toyota Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds when properly equipped - more than the Ram 1500, but still well short of what the Sierra 1500 can tow. If you need to transport cargo in the truck bed, the Toyota Tundra will let you haul up to 1,940 pounds. This is substantially less than the 2,200 pounds you can pack into the back of your Sierra 1500.

GMC Sierra HD vs Ram HD

Some tasks in Hamilton, MO, require the extra muscle only a heavy-duty truck can provide. For those tough jobs, the GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD are fantastic options. These trucks come standard with a 6.6-liter gas V8 engine that generates a massive 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque/ The Ram 2500 HD and 3500 HD get a standard 6.4-liter gas V8 engine that produces a similar 405 horsepower and a notably lower 429 pound-feet of torque.

GMC Hummer EV Pickup vs. Ford F-150 Lightning

There are more fully electric pickup truck options than ever, and not many can compare to the sheer power of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup. With three electric motors, the Hummer EV Pickup can generate a remarkable 1,000 horsepower. Even the most powerful Ford F-150 Lightning maxes out at 580 horsepower, even with its most advanced powertrain.
